Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
(September 21st, 22nd, 23rd & 24th)
The authors of "Jesus Christ, Superstar" and "Evita" created an international sensation with this fun and very hip adaptation of the well-known biblical tale. This is a remounting of our spring time mega-hit starring Stacy Schwartz as The Narrator. Stacy, a former Athens actress who is now performing in New York and Miami, is here in Athens for three weeks to do our production of "Joseph" and to teach a three week Musical Theatre seminar. Featuring the melodious, eclectic, contemporary sung-through score which is a tongue-in-cheek blend of Calypso, 50’s Rock ‘N Roll, Country-Western, Vaudeville, and even French art songs. "Joseph" is a winning, rollicking ensemble show that is ideal family entertainment. If you couldn’t get a ticket before, now is the time to see "Joseph!"

Pippin
(November 9th, 10th, 11th, 17, 18th & 19th)
Our "star-filled" fall continues with Broadway performer Michael Harris as The Leading Player. In this "once-upon-a-time show" the young prince Pippin longs to discover the secret of true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh, and intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father, King Charlemagne the great). In the end he finds it in the simple pleasures of home and family. This hip tongue in cheek fairy tale captivated Broadway audiences and continues to appeal to the young heart everywhere.

I Do, I Do

(February 1st,2nd & 3rd, and 9, 10 & 11th)
The story of a marriage is at the center of this intimate and nostalgic work by Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones (the authors of "The Fantasticks") starring long-time ACT vets Florence King and Jeff Evans. The show begins with Michael and Agnes on their wedding day and traces their life together over a period of 50 years until the day they leave their house to the next pair of newlyweds. In that time we watch them go through their wedding night jitters, raise a family, negotiate a mid-life crises, quarrel, separate, reconcile and grow old together, all lovingly to the strains of a tuneful, charming score, which includes the standard My Cup Runneth Over.

Ain't Misbehavin'
(March 29th, 30th, & 31st, and April 6th, 7th & 8th)
ACT Musical Director Tituss Burgess and ACT performer Jerri Lynn Williams take on this musical telling of the outrageously prodigious comic and musical soul of 1930’s Harlem. This rollicking, swinging, finger-snapping revue is still considered one of Broadway’s very best. "Ain’t Misbehavin’" evokes the delightful humor and infectious energy of American original Thomas "Fats" Waller. The versatile cast struts, strums, and sings the songs he made famous in a career that ranged from uptown clubs, to downtown tin pan alley, to Hollywood and concert stages in the US, Canada and Europe.

Little Shop of Horrors
(July 20th & 21st, and 27th & 28th) A down-and-out Skid Row floral assistant becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. Soon, "Audrey II" grows into an ill-tempered, foul mouthed carnivore who offers him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite...finally revealing itself to be an alien creature poised for global domination! One of the longest running Off-Broadway shows of all time, Little Shop of Horrors is tuneful and hilarious!
